Supporting Your Strength Through Every Stage of Care

At Willow London Naturopathic & IV Clinic, we understand that navigating cancer can be one of life’s most challenging experiences — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Mistletoe Therapy is a supportive treatment used in integrative oncology to help strengthen the immune system, improve energy, and reduce side effects during and after conventional cancer treatments.

This therapy is not a replacement for chemotherapy, radiation, or other standard medical care. Instead, it is used alongside your existing treatment plan to help your body recover more effectively, promote resilience, and support quality of life through every phase of your journey.

What is Mistletoe IV Therapy?

Mistletoe therapy is an evidence-informed treatment with decades of clinical application, including intravenous (IV) use since the 1950s. It has been studied and applied extensively in integrative oncology to help support quality of life, improve treatment tolerance, and strengthen the immune system during cancer care. At Willow London Naturopathic & IV Clinic, we use Mistletoe Standardized extract in both IV and subcutaneous forms. These are carefully selected and administered based on your stage of care, current treatments, and individual needs.

During Active Treatment

Mistletoe therapy may help manage some of the most common and difficult side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, such as fatigue, nausea, and appetite loss. Clinical experience shows it can also help support immune function, making it easier for patients to tolerate ongoing treatments without as much disruption to their daily lives.

After Treatment Completion

Many individuals continue to face lingering symptoms such as low energy, inflammation, and changes in mood or appetite. Mistletoe therapy can be used in this phase to help restore energy reserves, improve resilience, and stabilize immune function, supporting a more complete recovery and helping patients feel more like themselves again.

Palliative or Supportive Care

Mistletoe therapy may be chosen for its gentle, well-tolerated nature and its ability to improve comfort and quality of life. For individuals with advanced or metastatic cancer, it may help increase energy, stimulate appetite, reduce pain, and promote a greater sense of well-being during daily life, even when other treatment options are limited.

When Mistletoe Therapy May Be Recommended

  • Changes in energy and daily function – Cancer and its treatments can lead to fatigue, reduced stamina, and difficulty with everyday tasks. Mistletoe therapy may help restore vitality, improve appetite, and support resilience so you can feel more like yourself.

  • Cancer-related pain – Pain can significantly impact comfort and quality of life. Mistletoe therapy may help ease discomfort and enhance the effectiveness of other pain management approaches.

  • Cancer in one area of the body – When used alongside treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery, mistletoe therapy may support recovery, improve treatment tolerance, and help the body cope more effectively.

  • Cancer that has spread – In cases where cancer has reached multiple areas, the focus is often on comfort, energy, and overall well-being. Mistletoe therapy may help sustain strength, improve appetite, and support quality of life.

  • During chemotherapy - Chemotherapy can cause fatigue, nausea, and a weakened immune system. Mistletoe therapy may help improve tolerance to treatment, support immune health, and shorten recovery time between cycles.

  • Cancer affecting the brain – Mistletoe therapy can be tailored for safety and effectiveness in cases involving brain tumors, with treatment carefully adjusted to each patient’s needs.

Who Can Benefit From Mistletoe IV Therapy?

Mistletoe therapy is a supportive option for individuals in active cancer treatment, during recovery, or seeking ongoing wellness support. It can be especially beneficial for those experiencing fatigue, appetite loss, pain, or lowered immunity, and for patients who want a gentle, evidence-informed therapy to help strengthen their body during a difficult time.

Enhancing Comfort During Conventional Treatment

Cancer treatments, stress, or chronic illness can weaken your immune system, leaving you more vulnerable to infections. Mistletoe therapy works by gently stimulating immune activity, helping your body respond more effectively and maintain resilience. Many patients notice fewer infections, steadier energy, and a better ability to recover from day-to-day stressors.

Healing from an illness, injury, or surgical procedure takes a lot of energy. Mistletoe therapy may help support this process by improving circulation, enhancing nutrient delivery to tissues, and promoting a balanced immune response. Patients often report feeling stronger, regaining their appetite, and returning to daily routines more comfortably.

When used alongside conventional cancer treatments like chemotherapy or radiation, mistletoe therapy can help make the process more tolerable. Many people find it reduces fatigue, nausea, and inflammation, while supporting strength and resilience during a difficult time.

Why Mistletoe is Used in Integrative Cancer Care

Mistletoe therapy is valued for the way it supports your body during a challenging time. It works to keep your immune system active and balanced, helping it better recognize and respond to unwanted cells. Many patients find that it helps ease common side effects of cancer treatment—such as fatigue, nausea, or appetite loss—making it easier to maintain strength and energy. Over time, this gentle therapy can also support improvements in mood, sleep, and overall well-being.

Mistletoe is often combined with High Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy to further reduce inflammation, support recovery, and give the immune system an added boost. Together, these therapies form a valuable part of an integrative cancer care approach, working alongside your medical treatments to help you feel stronger and more resilient.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Your journey begins with an initial consultation where our Naturopathic Doctors review your symptoms, medical history, cancer treatment plan, and any relevant lab work. We then design a treatment plan that includes your starting dose, infusion schedule, and whether you may benefit from transitioning to subcutaneous therapy later on.

You will return to Willow for your infusions. Mistletoe IV therapy is most often administered once per week, but in some cases may be recommended more frequently at the start — daily for 1–2 weeks, then reduced to 1–3 times per week.

Your first infusion is typically longer and infused slowly over 2.5–3 hours to ensure optimal absorption and minimize the risk of side effects. As your body builds tolerance, infusion times can often be shortened for future sessions, making the process quicker and more convenient.

After treatment, you may experience mild warmth, low-grade fever, or temporary fatigue within the first 12–24 hours. These are normal immune responses and generally resolve quickly. Many patients begin to notice improvements in energy, appetite, and overall well-being within the first several weeks.
